Musket ball help

"Dr.Tones"

New member
They all weigh between 13.77g and 13.80g. Not sure of the diameter. Any ideas?

It would help to place something next to it for a scale reference and is that grains or grams?

Sorry that's grams. For better pics reference today's finds sub forum "a few from my last hunt 12/12/12"

The first ball is 212.50 grains, now we need to know how thick it is (that's the most important measurement). It does not have to be exact just make it as close as possible in inches or metric, we don't need to know the diameter.

Measures 9/16 of an inch

Then I would conclude from the size and weight that the first photo is a .56 caliber 212 grain musket ball. I got that by converting the width in inches to caliber and then converting the weight from grams to grains, that

Oh and they both must be the same size if they are both 9/16" wide, a few grains in weight won't matter for a old musket ball.

Thanks for the help!
