Multi tones in Ferrous mode not the same in Conductive mode

I notice that if hunting in Ferrous mode that conductive coins sound lower than when hunting in Conductive mode.
On the Explorer series, the sounds are the same. I wonder why Minelab changed this. It seems to penalize those who like to hunt in Ferrous.
Any thoughts on this?
Tony

Different machine. Remember the etrac "S curve"....Explorers don't do this.

The previous versions of the Explorer didn't have the 12 line thing going on. I almost always hunt ferrous multi tones with my explorer. Got the CTX with the 12 line also. It pretty much stays at home. There is a lot of useful information to be gleaned from the tones and screen with the earlier models.

Minelab threw this out the door with the E-Trac. That's why most people who use ferrous on the the Etrac do two tone ferrous. They really don't have a choice in the matter.

Alright, thanks Chris.

Chris, are you the one I detected with about 15 or so years ago? I drove over your way and met up with something I think was Chris. We detected a park.

I agree that it was a monumental loss of information when the target mapping got changed. Maybe ML wanted to make it easier and more attractive to the newer user? Who knows....I just hitched up the X-8 and X-1 to the Explorer2 and we're going hunting tomorrow. I'm going to Williams Bay....ever been there Chris? I think I have a good park hidden from traffic and I'm hoping it's a barn burner! The Ultimate 13 and CTX will be riding along just in case...

Hi Tony !

Your query re Conductive and Ferrous modes, couple to Multi-tones.

Multi over 1-52, compared to multi over 1 to 35 ??????

Haven't played with that scenario in detail, but you can alter the variation range, so can that be set to your preference?

Let's know if you can achieve the response that you want.....matt
