Ms. Mercury raises her pretty head
I did a little easement hunting in the city today. The first coin I pulled out was a 1944 s Mercury dime. Sweet, that

Now I know how you feel when I call a Canadian coin foreign. It sounds funny when I see a US coin called foreign. They are great looking. I'm looking for the elusive 1916d. That is the 5th Mercury I have found. Have you found any in Canada?

I didn't have my glasses on when I found this beauty.I had to ask a passerby to tell me the date on it, and when he told me I nearly fainted. I asked him five times to double check to see if there was a little "D" on the bottom left of the reverse. Oh well, probably the closest I will ever get!

The picture was taken before rinsing it. It is really in great shape!

I hear you. I was hoping to see the 1916 on mine. Aren't the mint marks on the back on a 1916? I did find a 1916 dime. It was my fist and only Barber.

OMG you are right! There is a "D"!!!! (Just kidding. I meant to say on the reverse. I edited my post. Thanks for the heads up!)
