Mr. Bill Question

Member
I personally couldn't care less about the legacy of Fisher, nor do I wax poetic about being personally let down by a company. The sale of Fisher is neither good or bad its just a fact. I am concerned only with getting the most for my money period, if it isn't here I can go somewhere else.
My question is ; would putting the 11" F4 coil on the 3300 bring new life to it and quiet it down abit? its so overly sensitive to surrounding targets and widescans have a reputation for stability in extreme areas. I have 2 3300s and I wasn't considering getting a F4 but I might if the coil helped the 3300.

I haven't had the time to find that question out.

It's real tough trying to detect in torrential down pours, and 50 mph winds. Mother Nature has not been to cooperative. :(

Just as soon as I get a chance I'll check it out, and post it back to ya. :)

Same connector.

The Discovery 3300 coil works on the F-4. :yikes:

Looks like the BH guys just got a DD coil to use, and the F-4 users just got all the BH coils to choose from.

I know that the T2 coil connector, and the 3300 are different, Both are 5 pin but the pin set is different.
So if the F4 has the same pin set as the 3300, then the coil for the F4 and the T2 must either be different, or
with a chance in the pin set the T2 could also use the Bounty hunter coils, if the frequenies are the same or close ....Is that correct, or a poor assumption?

Thanks KCK

There are NO other coils at the moment that I am aware of that will work with the T-2.

Dave Johnson has stated this a few times already on the forums. The T-2's circuit was designed around the special DD coil they made for it.

That's true Bill,

The T-2 coil really is in a class by itself, I tried to use a smaller MXT DD coil with a special two-way plug I put together on the T-2 and it will not work. However, Both circuit boards use the same color code wires running from the circuit board to the coil plug which lead me to assume DJ carried this over to the T-2 from the MXT since both operate near the same kHz. The grounding was a little different between the two detectors and I should have got at least some response with the many different wire arrangement attempts but nothing worked, The T-2 really is in a class by itself and no other coil will work.

I'm looking forward to trying out the F4, But me down for one from the first batch you receive, I'll call you tomorrow.

Thanks,
HH, Paul (Ca)
