"Mr. Bill, Hows the F4 tests going? tried the 10" coil?"

It's gone quite surprisingly well. I wish I had more time to devote to it. I'll put together my thoughts on the F-4 just as soon as I get a chance.

I just recently lent it to my hunting buddy, Bill Ladd so he could play with it a bit. The weather hasn't been cooperating very well for him at all.

I lost my best permission to a new, crazy caretaker, & my woods sites have deer hunters (who are just as crazy) in them, and then it snowed. :rage: But, it seems like a pretty good detector for the price. I took some pictures and will try to upload 'em soon...
I wanted to get some more hours in on it before I started posting & everyone began asking me specific questions.....

PS. Try to get written permission whenever possible. Then if the police or some nut shows up you can whip it out & send 'em on their way.

can you tell me what frequency the f4 is operating at ,and are the coils going to be interchangeable with the f75

I guess you want me to say honestly it is, but I can't say that. I do know it certainly doesn't operate like the new 3300, I purchased. Nothing like it at all, out side of the shape, and the control layout. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if I learned both units shared the same basic circuit. Darn, most detectors out there today do. I wouldn't go out on a limb making a bold statement over something I have absolutely no control over. :)

It feels better in your hands.

It's a lot deeper. I had exceptional results using the 8" coil off the 3300, better than the 11" DD. I haven't had time to use the 10" concentric coil yet. I'm certain it will be a gain over the 8" one.

Faster sweep speed with a much faster recovery time.

3 different all metal modes, 1 discriminate mode with notching.

This I know. :)

Hi Coenwolf

I think it's 6.something khz. 6.5 rings a bell but I could be wrong.

From what Dave Johnson a couple of months ago here, they will not be the same coils on the f-75 as the f4.

what i,m trying to get my head round bill ,why as has been stated the f75 coils and the T2 coils will not be interchangeable ,now is this because they are going to be operating on a different frequency .and if this is so will it improve performance or lower it .this also indicates to me that the f4 is definetly for the low end of the market ,next years going to be a interesting one for:detecting:

From what the engineer, Dave Johnson said about the T-2's coil when it was first introduced, is that it was designed around the special DD coil, and no other coil would work with it because of this.

He has stated recently that the F-75 coils will not work on the T-2. I suspect that the F-75 will use Fisher coils already in house, and perhaps a newly designed 1 or 2 coils.

On a different note, the F-4 will use the Bounty Hunter series of coils along with it's new designed DD coil. That's a good deal, because BH coils are really inexpensive.

As soon as I learn more, I'll post it here.

Have a nice day

hmm that does rather suggest a different frequency range for the machine then ,gonna have to wait and see when they finally come out .
one things certain dave johnson will make sure its right before releasing it for sale
