Moving to MI soon............

How long does the waterhunting season last??? Prob. be up there in a month in a half. To Menominee, MI to be exact. Already started reading up on the area,(rich in history, hopefully finds too) Hope to at least reach my goal of finding a (US) Large Cent before I freeze to death, lol. So I have to bid adu' to +99 deg weather and 110% humidity and also the Gulf of Mexico! :( Damm I'm gonna be outnumbered!! - - - "Sgt. Sound the bugle for reinforcments!!!!!!!!"

PS. You don't really know how much crap you have till you have to move 1300 miles!

I know here in PA we've had some mild winter where it didn't really turn cold until January. Last year was not one of those.

they might call it michigan, but son thats cheese head country! fishing is great, and if you get there soon you'll be treated to the trees changing colors. don't know much about the beaches cause i'm at the other end of the state. waters brisk most of the year all the better to loosen some of the shinny's my pretty! my oldest daughter was thinking about attending michigan tech in houghton about 180 miles north of menominee until she found out they average about 200 inches a year in snowfall 18 ft.!

some copper culture stuff has been found in the area, mum's the word if you were to get so lucky!

hope the move goes smoothly and you enjoy your new home!

Forecast patchy frost for that general area tonite. What's that tell ya?

It's supposed to be a winter of above average temps this year so at least you will get broke in easy. ;)

I live in Antrim County in the lower peninsula due east of Menominee across Lake Michigan.

Look at it this way .... No Hurricanes and Tornados are an extremely rare almost nonexistent occurance in that area. So despite the snow and cold it's a net gain IMO.
