Mother's Day Nitro

I went out for a couple hour hunt before dinner Sunday and found my first gold ring with a big fat nitro unfortunately. I hunted a softball field some and then the soccer field for a while at a nearby elementary school until some kids left then hit the playground and found the ring first and about only target in the gravel, it had been swept clean by somebody before me. I found the fiver and earrings by eye and dug $2.47 in clad. I was pretty sure ring was fake when I found it but after 2 cleanings it looked so good I talked myself into believing it was real. Took it to a jeweler friend Monday morning and received the bad news.

Real or not, it's still pretty good.

Too bad, but I recently found a gold ring in the freshwater beach sand with my X-70 and round 10.5 HF DD. The beaches are totally vacant this time of year with nice weather. A perfect time to detect.

On monday, the day after mothers day, I first found a .410 shotgun brass casing that hit on 10, then a gold ring also hit on 10! I think the gold ring was double beeping more though. It was a small ladies gold ring with an oval front face, with no stones, that fits the pinky finger.

She was waiting in the car reading, so I gave it to mom for a mothers day gift.
