Most popular detector ever produced

Does anyone have any ideas as to what make and model of detector has sold the most machines in America? I would guess maybe the White's XLT because of how long it has been on the market? Or maybe Garrett's Ace 250? I bet they have sold a ton of them. Any other ideas?

Galaxy: Probably not the most popular detector, but Bounty Hunter, has been the largest seller over the last 20 yrs. Sold at Wallmart, Radio Shack, and through dozens of mail order catalogs, thousands of people have bought them, due to price, and never really got into the Hobby, also many people that are in the Hobby started with a Bounty Hunter. First Texas, Bounty Hunter is the largest manufacture of Metal Detectors in the world, I believe that Garrett is second at this time. HH Steve.

I do know Whites IDX with flash technology sold a lot because of the price and they worked well in a user friendly fashion..Would imagine XLT which has been out since 93 is probably the highest seller relative number of units sold. 13 year technogy that will stand up to
todays models...Garrets GTA because of its several models and longevity has to be a big seller also...

Most popular and most produced two seperate things!!! I doubt Bounty Hunter could be considered the most popular! Most produced, not sure, best>>>>Whites DFX!!! Gregg

I was talking to someone I know at Garrett about a year or so ago. He said they were 2000 machines behind in orders at that time.

Clondike, I own and use the 6000Di/PRO SL. It is a really good machine and the more I tinker with other machines the more I realise how solid and accurate its meter IDs. When the meter needle points like a bird dog to the Q on Quarter I dig a quarter! Tomorrow the mailman is scheduled to bring me an XL PRO that has almost a year left of warranty. As much as I like the SL with the C battery size, the lighter weight of the XL PRO will be welcome. I wonder how many 6000 series detectors White's has sold?
