Morgan and v nickels

We hunted a new place yesterday and had a nice day. We finished with 10 wheats, three Indians and a merc. Today my daughter had a soccer game and I made it home with about two hours of light left in the day. I debated even going out. I found the two v nickels within two feet of each other. The dates are clear. 1899& 1890. I then dug some clad and with about 10 min of light left in the day I get a very high signal. So high that I figured it was junk. I debated even digging it. I decided to dig it and broke my digger. I almost gave up again. My buddy scanned the hole and said he would definitely finish that signal. He handed me his digger and this popped out. It is rough but still happy to find it.

That is a great find. Morgans are my favorite dollar coin. I have never found one. If I do I will probably mess my pants.

This one is really rough. I am guessing it was run over by a tractor in gravel. No matter I'll take it any day.The V's are my best dug to date.

:clapping: Way to go! I'd take a weekend like that!

Way cool! Any hints on settings and hardware?

Nice finds!

That's how V nickels come out of the ground around here also.

705, 3khz digger, auto GB (very strange gb#s, 17 in one area 36 twenty feet away) sens around 25( electric fence on the property causes interference in one area so I back it way down there), The Morgan rang up at 46 consistently, I honestly thought it was going to be a mason jar lid with the tin on it.

I am an hour north of Pittsburgh.

Thank you. Very helpful! I just arranged for a 3 KHz 9 inch. I am thinking silver!

No problem. I actually love my digger coil. It separates really well. The only down side to it is how hot it is and will give you high TID # on some junk. I would like to try a 15" 3khz coil when field hunting. Let me know how your coil works for you.
