More than Treasure to be found

Headed out for the big city beach to hunt the swimming area this morning around 6am.
Took the PI for the hunt. They tell me targets are few and far between, appears they are right.
After 3 hours of hunting from knee deep to chest deep, retrieved all targets except for 5 or 6 in the deep water.
They were just too deep, probably a pc. of huge iron.
Came up with some finds not much:
1 Toonie
2 Quarters
2 pennies
Friendship for life token
electrical box knock out disc
1 earring stud
2 small sneaker grommets
plated gold chain
10 hairpins
pulltab

Decided to go back to the hard hit beach and do the dry sand this evening with the Fisher ID Edge.
Planned on hunting for 3 hours. Beach sure clean, hardly a signal, everyone takes out the trash except for one hunter.
Hunt lasted 45 minutes. Couldn't take the pressure of those dang horse flies, swarms landing on my legs trying to take a pc. of me home with them. Fought them off by kicking sand in their faces. Worked for a little while. Your going to say should have used some bug spray. Sprayed my legs, hat, shirt arms with OFF before I went out the door. Didn't seem to work. Nasty little fliers they are.
Before I fled the growing swarms, managed to scoop up:
2 pennies
Pair of 2" dia hoop earrings
and a pulltab

So that is what a horse fly looks:rofl:

Damn, Never saw a close up, so thats why they're called horse flies. I use Skin-So-Soft when I go in the woods. Mosquitos buzzing all around but rarely does one land on me. Try it, works great, cheap too. Apply it to bare skin. Plastic bottle fits in my pocket, I take the it with me in the woods.

hybrid! keep those 'toonies and loonies" comin'
