This is an email from John who needs our prayers!
I just wanted to let you know that I haven't fallen off the face of the
earth. I've been dealing with one of life's little bumps in the road.
Ever since Deb and I got back from the United Kingdom, I just hadn't
been feeling right and had a great deal of pain in my back. they
thought it was related to my Rheumatoid Arthritis. They did a couple of
MRI's of my back and came up with the diagnosis of Ankylosing
Spondylitis (inflammatory arthritis of the spine), Degenerative Disc
Disease, and Facet Disease. Oh, and a partridge in a pear tree, LOL.
By the time Christmas was over with I'd lost about 35 lbs and had
unbearable fatigue. It turns out the arthritis is just a walk in the
park. More tests followed and the first week in Jan. I got the news that
I have Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma. It's stage one which means it's still
localized, so they caught it early. I started chemo and they did their
damnedest to kill me but I won't let them have their way. About half
way through the chemo my blood counts got too low, I got an infection
and they had to delay the chemo. I finished about 1 1/2 weeks ago.
I've tried to keep my sense of humor about all this but I admit it
doesn't always work. I've been through the emotional wringer a few
times. Shock, fear, denial, fear, depression, on and on. I guess I'm
telling you this because you know what it's all about. If you want to
let the nutfarm know what's going on, I'm ok with it. I've tried to
follow the forum but I think I've missed an awful lot. ( Hey, this
paragraph only took me 3 days to write. No fatigue here! )
Depending on what my blood counts do, maybe more chemo, or maybe
radiation. I don't know yet.
Thanks for listening
John
