More goodies from the bulldozed house lot

Managed to get out Saturday afternoon with my buddy Jay again to the bulldozed house lot. Things started off pretty slow. Jay hunted with the 8x11 coil and I stuck with the 5x8 coil. We started off where Jay got his shoebuckle and Ron got his colonial the previous trip there. I slowly worked my way along the trashy field. First good target was a wheat. I walked a straight line and dug anything that repeated. A few pieces of canslaw later and I was rewarded with the colonial flat button with shank still intact. As I slowly worked the area around where I found the button I came across a loud 81 signal that was extremely shallow. I cut a small plug, flipped it over and the childs sterling ring fell out of the plug. It has a center stone that I'm pretty sure is glass, but the ring has a really old setting. Cool! I bumped into Jay along the edge of the woods and we had a :smoke: break. Jay wasn't doing too well and was only finding junk. He decided that he was going to switch back to the 5x8 coil because the signals just weren't locking on. I tended to agree as I was also having difficulty locking onto good targets. I chalk it up as because the ground was bulldozed all the signals and halos have been disturbed. Targets that were probably 6 - 8 inches deep now moved to the surface made them broken up and loud. At least that's what I think. We decided to hit the front yard again to see if we missed anything from our previous hunt there. Jay finally got on board with a wheat after switching coils and was starting to get a little bit of clad. I worked the front of the yard near the old driveway and close to the road. This area is off a main route and is littered with trash. I came across a loud shallow dime signal, numbers locked on 83 - 84. I had a feeling it was going to be silver. I dug a small plug and was rewarded with the 51 Roosie. About 20 feet away I got the old drawer pull. This is an odd find because I've never seen one that was hollow with a keyhole before. The back has a square hole that looks like it was attached to a square shaft at one point in its life. Still cool nonetheless. The 2nd wheat was also found in the front yard towards the end of the hunt. We put in a good 5 hours at this site for the meager finds that we got. Jay and I decided to put this spot on the backburner and look for a new spot next weekend. HH! :)

This would be a good hunt for me. I would say hunt the edges of the property if you feel its been hunted out.
