More gold with Etrac

Neil

Well-known member
The Etrac really impressed me today. two 1943 nickels(I think those are the ones with silver, those are the ones that came out black from the ground), one 1935 buffalo which has a copper color to it, a 1935 wheatie and a 1936 ring, not sure if its a class ring or not, no name on it of a school, just the letter M and inside its inscripted G.J.B.&CO, 14k. The ring came up F11 C11. The lipstick tube still has lipstick in it:surprised:
Thanks for looking,
Neil

Sweeet I told you would luv it
I received my 10x12 today IT fit with no mods kind of heavy compared to the pro will give it a good try this weekend congrats on your nice finds did you go back to the same place? HH RonC

"Well done Neil...you've proved [where there's trash there's treasure]

Nice rings - would that M be "Michigan State?"

Yes, lipstick still containing material is a common enough find!

Good Hunting"

Neat finds Neil!---Yeah, those are "silver war nickels" (composition of 35% silver, 56% copper, & 9% manganese).--The 3 mints (P,D & S) made them during the war years from 1942 thru 1945 and during that time only, the mint mark is on the reverse above the dome on Monticello.---I think they're neat to find but I don't find too many of them.--Only found 5 in the last 3 months.----I like that 1936 ring!-------Del

Wow, those rings are pretty cool. Sounds like the E-Trac is a monster.

You got that right Des. Any place I can dig pulltabs theres bound to be some other goodies hiding out. Im not finished with this place yet.
I was suprised by the lipstick still being in it, its gotta be from the 70s I would guess.
Im told the ring is probably from one of two area high schools that have the same color blue. Ive got to put some time in researching it.

Good hunting to you also,

Neil

Hey Del,
The mintmarks are both P so I guess thats Philly.
The ring is a nice one, the oldest Ive ever found with a date on it. I have one older but that was dated by a jeweler, somewhere in the 20s he told me.
Thanks much,
Neil
