Its hitting a silver dime in my backyard at 7" with a 5" coil. Ordered the 11" coil. Boy Fisher has turned up the heat on the competition. I waited as long as I was willing for the G2. If its better than this then its going to have to be made of silver. I coin hunt primarly so we'll see.

take one in a head to head challenge against a 1270 with the same coils. I have a Tejon, F75, Tornado, Stingray II, CZ-20 and a couple others. The Tejon is the best discriminator....and the Tornado is best in iron....but the 1270 beats them all in depth.

Traded a Tejon in for the GB. Sucks batteries and hated the tones. Had a Silver before that and hated its gone. Still cant get as tight to metal as Id like. 4" coil is needed. Heard good things about 1270. Most coins I find in N.C. are 3 to 7" and I dont relic hunt as the norm. Have gotten over "deep". Havnt needed it but this one could make me dig deeper if we get some rain. Grd is hard as concrete here.

You must have gotten a bad one.....my Tejon will last around 30-40 hrs on one set of batteries...and has a single tone that is adjustable. Understand about the hard ground...went to a leschke Land Shark shovel...works great. Talking about tones though....I bought a Minelab Sov....the tones sounded like chinese or Santana on guitar!!!!!

I ran the vco at 3:00 and I am used to replacing 1 battery not 8. I tried several headsets and let several people use it to test and no one thought there was a problem but me.

Sometimes it just comes down to...I just don't like it!!! :ranting: LOL
I run my Tejon on the lower pitch....but most run it at high pitch. Just different strokes for different folks. As to the batteries....yeah...8 is alot...but it does seem to work better with all that power base and balances the unit as well. Hopefully someone from our club or area will get a GB and I can check it out.
