2" wide Plexiglas's about 6" long. Heated at the bend points, it shapes nicely. Then I cut the feet for proper angle. Very easy to make.

I made this detector rest when I fist got my GT. Its attached to the battery with Velcro adhesive strips so it can be removed if needed. I just leave it on the battery.
Hasn't given me any problems and I used the same on my TDI for a couple years. The adhesive may become gummy in really hot weather...like over 100degF.
The only negative is that It occasionally bumps into my Lesche which is on the same side.

Its not pretty...it simply works

Oh it could be made out of PVC or other workable plastic. I just had some plexiglass laying around.
 
Innovative, made with materials on hand, reversible, clean, out of the way, and can be modified easily if an idea strikes you = good job!
