Hello All. I have a couple of photos of finds at the US army hospital over the last couple of weeks. I am still finding the old pre decimal coins and odds and ends. the coins were 11 pennies 1924-33-36-20-40-43-27-42-43-42-41.three one cent us coins 2-x41-43.three silver florins 1943-38-42. One silver shilling - 1912. Three silver sixpences 1922-26-36.two silver threepences 1942-36.one partly made coin ring from a florin dated 1931 just visible beside the break in the coins. I now have a handful of coin ring in different states of attempts of making them. One Australian forces button two us buttons. One small bronze bell about 3/4inch in size. Three 45 cal bullets. Two 11mm bullets and a 303 bullet. One old style of razor with the screw on handle. Assortment of belt buckles. A couple of locks. Tent eyelets one pocket knife about 4inches long with ivory on each side. I found a bottle pit which was covered with sheets of fibro cement. The top ones were smashed up but with a bit of carefully digging I managed to save some of the small ones. I have found an old show grounds that is quite active each week. Between the show grounds and the hospital site I will be quite busy for some weeks to come. I won

Congrats on the detector of the month win. Sounds like you are busy with a few good sites.
Keep up the good work. Now if only I can get my hands on a few old sites like that...
God bless,
MM

Wow, you really are the detector of the month! It look's like you have a great site to search and you know how to search it. I'm looking forward to seeing more. Keep it up.

I may never get to Australia but if I do...can I go hunting with you? What an awesome site you have found!

If those in Archeology could understand what we do and why we do it, I think there would be a new beginning of coorperation, unless it's just an ego thing with them. I say that because of the obvious history, even living history here and your obvious love of it. The kind of work you are doing here, taking pictures, cataloging, etc. is great and totally complements what an archeologist could do later with a complete dig. Thank you for sharing your work. You are the kind of collector that I strive to be. I am going to buy a handheld GPS and use it to accurately catalog all my relic findings. With that, a tag or marked envelope, pictures, and depth. I should have a useful collection by the time I finish with it.

Sorry to drift there but your links inspired me.

Thanks again,

Julien
