More field finds.

Returned to the field again yesterday with two different approaches.First was to try to see what the Excalibur could find.I know it is a water/beach machine but it hit two small buttons in places I went over with the XLT.It was quite different and only used it for 45mins.Later on in the evening went down with the XLT and went slow and steady.First hit was a musket ball 5" down. After a few junk targets I hit a Large Colonial Flat button with design and some gilt left on it 6" down.Next step is the 5.3 coil with the slow approach and see what turns up.

Take Care, John

the excal is just a sovereign in a waterproof tube and I've found it does Ok on land. Great in the water but NOT my machine of choice for relic hunting as it weighs as much as a large cinder block.... however, I do use mine from time to time and it has found some good stuff. I usually use it like you did... a quick go over on an area I already did with another machine. that's enough to wear out my arm.
cheers !

That is all I wanted to do with it.I wanted to try another brand on a place I hit over and over. The Excal is the only other brand I have, every other machine is a Whites.
