More corn field finds with ID Edge

Corn field is only 100 years old, nothing really old there. Hasn't been planted in two years and now is covered with weeds 10 - 24" tall. Can't get coil close to the ground but did manage to get three coins that were only 4 - 5" deep. Place is loaded with crushed soda cans 6" deep, they all sound like silver. Searched 4 hours in 95 degree heat but I had a good time anyway.

Pop cans will read like coins but the depth will be WAY off. A pop can @ 4" will read or act like a penny or dime @ 1" (one the Coin$trike anyway) so if I get a ID of 28 and a pin-point number like 95 and it not a coin right near the surface it always JUNK! and most of the time it will be a crushed pop can or some other piece of over sized aluminium. A real dime/penny. @ 4" will have a pin-point number of 68-69.

You have some really nice finds and good enough to maybe hit some sections with a weed-eater!

My thoughts exactly, 30 minutes of weed eating can give you a whole day of hunting. I would also take all or some of those cans, they could be masking out a lot of good finds.

Yup, nice finds.
We hit a weeded in picnic ground from the 1890's to 1930's one time, produced coins by the hundreds from that era and earlier.
I came back with a lawn mower and sickle and turned it back into a nice park and hunted the **** out of it. Every year it produced more coins until the property was sold and they built a drug rehab building on 80% of the grounds. The funny thing is was just over the culvert on a main road traveled by a million cars each day.

Its not very sexy, but remember you can collect the cans, recycle them and BUY a few silver dimes!
Pop top tabs are good for the Ronald McDonald house fund, too!

Pastor, my pouch isn't big enough for soda cans.
