This spot keeps calling me back. found 6x10 hole that just keeps coughing it up.
so far 2 buckles, several buttons, musket trigger guard, pendant, pottery shards,
nails, chains, and other odd items. ... ... ... i`ll be diggin in the dirt till the put me in it ... ... ...

Those nails are not cut nails , they are older , hand forged , thats cool ,

Good age potential there for sure... I always thought that yellow slipware was a Pennsylvania dutch thing...im a little surprised you are finding it in md..maybe it was more widely circulated than I thought.... about 20 years ago I actually dug a whole slipware pie plate..I still have it..might post pics of it some day...

Im digging in NE Florida there`s a lot of incised pottery English Spanish and other pottery here, pretty much pops out of every dig hole .

I dig up a lot of pottery in the location i am digging right now.
i have started making little displays from it.
the incised pottery depending on the piece dates 3000 B.C. - 1500 A.D. the British Slipware dates 18th century
and the Shell edged Pearlware 1780 - 1830`s ...

Just wanted to add, those where the first pieces of orange / yellow pottery i have pulled up, and i am not sure of its type.
its not slipware or pearlware. normally it is the common blue on white or green on white .

Wow, that is a really cool and interesting collection of pottery chards.. do you think the older ones are american indian maybe Seminoles? I took a pic of the slipware pie plate I dug up like 25 years ago..around these parts the redware with yellow design is known as slipware... I also dug up the decorative tile in the same area.. the pie plate is8 or 9 inches round and the tile is about 3x3inches... [attachment 291930 phpLBe8L2PM-1.jpg][attachment 291931 php39cL7MPM.jpg][attachment 291932 phpy75Q3IPM.jpg] that is an amazing range in age in your collection... I dont really ever recall anyone ever finding indian pottery in my area.. good luck..
