More bean field hunting...

Phil

New member
been hunting several bean fields that contain home site from mid to later 1800's. Most of the finds were made with my MXT and 6x10DD but a few were gotten with my F70 and 6in coil.

The one button in the last photo almost gave me a heart attack. It doesn't show up well in the photo but the button has gold gilt and is about the size of a $2 1/2 gold piece. I believe the button in the photo with the shot up large penny is a civil war era eagle button. Not bad for a bean field in east central Indiana.

Great finds Phil, good job thanks for sharing :clapping:

Looks like you found a field of relic finds.
Great finds:thumbup:

WOW!!! You've hit the jackpot. What is the little round silver item in the 5th picture? And is it silver? Just wondered if it was a coin made into a love token. Fantastic finds Phil. You've got your work/play cut out for you at that site! HH and thanks for sharing, Nancy

Nice finds, I really enjoy the older and odder finds. I wish I had a field like yours. Rob

The top item is a hinge, there is a smashed thimble, 2 lead balls and a bullet, there are 3 flat buttons and the handle of a baby spoon at the bottom of the photo. I think what you are referring to is one of the flat buttons. If you look in the center you can see where the eyelet was attached.

I only live 3 miles from Ind/Ohio line about a hours drive northwest of Dayton.

Now that I know it's a button, it's as clear as can be. Thanks. I thought that was a thimble aslo. Those are cool to find. HH to all, Nancy

Nice relics and coins Phil.
