More AT PRO silver

The last few hunts I spent at a park where the good stuff is real deep 8+ inches. I wanted to test the depth capabilities of the AT Pro. Well it passed with flying colors. All I was digging were the very faint repeatable high tones. All the coins I found were well over 8 inches. Along with the silver dimes, I dug 13 wheat pennies, 3 indian head pennies and a buffalo nickel which was strange because it gave me a high tone? it was also the deepest coin at a solid 12 inches. I honestly have to say this is the deepest single frequency machine I've ever used, and I've used quite a few.

That deserves an ATTA BOY, Butch...........love the silver :garrett: I dug a high tone today and guess what a nickel, BUT underneath were two zincolns.......might want to go back and pick up that IH........lurking at 14 inches! :clapping:

Nice report (and finds) :beers:

This is encouraging to hear you're finding small silver and copper at these depths

Hi Brian, I was very surprised myself. I forgot to mention that the machine ground balanced at 92 so it's not like we have real mild ground. This park has also been hunted pretty heavily by me and a few friends with multi frequency machines which to this point were the only machines capable of getting deep enough to get to the old coins.

Check that hole where the buffalo come out for a deeper coin. I had a signal of 86 for a clad dime, ATP did not give another signal, but the prob did ,quarter 8inches turn on side at bottom of hole.

I was wondering how the deep silver dimes and the barber I.D. at that depth? Also have you ever owned a minelab? And does it compare at depth and I.D.? Thanks.

Hi Harold, The dimes were all 8-9 inches. The ID's were all decent, good repeatable high tones with a very tight cluster of #'s between 82-85, I did notice whenever I would get a possible good target if there was a large fluctuation in the #'s, like for instance an 82-85 and occasionally drop to the 40's or 50's it would turn out to be junk. And yes I do have a Minelab Explorer SE Pro, an Excalibur for my occasional trip to the coast and an Exterra 705, and the AT Pro can definitely keep up with my other machines with depth and ID accuracy.
