More AT Pro depth

Saw a video by jcwdigger on utube where he used a set of Garrett waterproof headphones vs Garrett stock phones that come with the AT Pro n gained 3" in depth, I found that pretty impressive. Have u guys tried that? Might have to get a set of those. Thanks...

I got them, they sound off loud on all targets, even deep iffy targets. There isn't a volume control, so all targets come up loud. Its good for underwater use, but I wouldn't use them for land hunting. I forced myself to use them one day in the summer when it was raining outside. I got a headache after using them for 30 minutes in a trashy park. Just my 2 cents. HH!

For land use, there are several other headphone sources available that have quite a bit better audio (for catching those deep whispers) then does the stock Garrett phones. All it takes to use them is a headphone adapter that fits into the headphone jack the same as does the Garrett. HH jim tn

Different headphones cant give the detector better depth. If they are louder you may be able to hear the tone better , but headphones have no effect on how well the detector itself works.

As a sound engineer I understand the principal of this. The added volume controls decrease the signal flow. No it doesn't make the detector better, it makes the signal better.

its true, you can actually gain 3" more in depth. the blue waterproof headphones will run you around 80$. Because they deaden your the outside noises completely, letting you hear those faint tones!

I am totally new to this treasure hunting. I have had a home in Sebastian Florida for 16 years and have watched the treasure hunters on the beach. Looking to get some exercise and thought that why not try hunting while I walk the beach. Any suggestions on what would be a decent machine to get started with? I am looking at the AT PRO because of the water proof feature. How would you rate this machine in terms of others products. Thanks for your feed back.

Sebastian new bee you can't go wrong whit the at pro it's a good all around machine and if you don't like metal detecting they have a good resale value but be careful metal detecting is addicting once you start finding things you won't want to stop.good luck to you.:super:

I got a NEL Storm coil on my AT PRO now and the blue headphones. I swear I dug a flattened beer can at 20 inches two days ago. Today a quarter at 12 inches. And even hunt safely in the rain. Awesome machine.

I have a buddy who has a set of Killer B's and he swears by em. By all the silver coins he is digging he is doing something right.
