Dug 54 clad this morn. in 15 yr. old softball park . 8 of the clad was nickles,the ratio was great,I told myself the Gold rings will come.
I went there because its alcohol free park,only dug a couple pop tops and bottle caps,my back and legs cant take alot of them.
I do know now that pop tops, nickles, and gold, are partners on the vdi scale, Im learning,you guys have helped me alot..........................
 
That's a good start I'm new to the sport also. I was swinging a Ace 350 and I could usually call it when my coil crossed a nickel. I dig everything for the first 2 or 3 hrs. when I start hurting (bad back) I get picky but I still find the nickels. I think it's from digging everything. I just this minute put together my new to me AT-PRO and am looking forward to learning this machine now. So good luck, even though I'm sure I miss a few, nickels are not really all that hard. Besides that aren't nickels really just a gateway to gold?
