Moose 100 yards and napping

TURNMASTER

NO PIC did not have my camera, bummer.
This guy was feeding when I showed up. I watched him for about 45 min to see what he was going to do. He layed down in the shade. My hunt today was about 150 yrds away and I had to keep an eye on him to make sure he did not come my way. He got and wandered to a more sheltered spot. I could hear him a few times. When I left I couldn't see him where he had been.

Kinda Cool
only found 1 penny in 4 hr it was a 1917S . I got a pretty good area covered that I didn't know if would produce. Did hit a bunch of pull tabs and such at 2 - 4 inches and a toy hot wheel type trailer. Looks to have been the garage area ? Who knows

That is kinda cool too see a moose while you were out MD'ing. I always enjoy seeing any wildlife while I'm out MD'ing.
Congrats on the wheat.

It was strange. He didn't belong where he was but it is close to the river, so maybe not that wierd.
I found a lot of small junk that read the same as a penny from 2 or 3 ways but just the one lonely penny.

My dad bought a metal detector, we'll see if he uses it.

Isolated moose populations have been verified as far south as the mountains of Utah and Colorado. In 1978 a few breeding pairs were introduced in western Colorado, and the state's moose population is now more than 1,000.<

Wow that is a lot of info. They some times make the news for being in the outskirts in a yard or some similar woods edge place. Just seemed odd but not too odd.
