Monte, When will Tesoro go to Multifrequency?

I heard the new cz-3d is multifrequency. Why don't tesoro see the benefit?

The CZ was always Multi freq.. Fisher just decided some cute advertising would help sell detectors to people who can be drawn in by the HYPE. Tesoros do great for what they are designed to do and a beach unit would be the only type of detector I would be interested in seeing what they could accomplish using more frequencies.

This is just MY OPINION before you read anything into this!
I tried one of the 'top of the range' multi-frequency detectors, and for ME, it was a pain in the butt, I didn't find that it gave me any advantage at all. 2 years later I traded it in for a single frequency Laser model. Now I am a happy guy once more, and finding JUST AS MUCH, if not MORE than I ever did with the all singing all dancing multi frequency machine. I find stuff that the guys with the m/f machines DROOL over! OK, I would be the first to admit that a lot of it is down to luck ... If you go over it, you will find it (regardless of what detector you use). But my PERSONAL experience is; A single frequency turn-on-and-go machine is a lot simpler, and a whole lot more fun to use... AND IT GETS RESULTS JUST AS GOOD AS ANY M/F MACHINE!
Like I said at the top, just MY opinion

The marketing dept at Fisher has really gone overboard with the multi-freq claims, it started with the CZ70 and now the CZ3D. They may transmit several frequencies but they only receive and process 2 (5/15khz). Same as the Minelabs and thier multi-freq hype, sure worked good for them so I guess Fisher wanted a piece of the action

Perhaps the benefit of multi-frequency detectors is mostly in the bank account of the manufacturer.
Got a hunch that many will be dissapointed in the CZ-3D. The phase shift created by any target can be altered to make it appear where one wants to. Problem is; any other target that creates an identical phase shift will also appear in the same spot. Lots of junk targets to contend with out there and many mimic good targets.
We shall see what happens!

If you can get ahold of one the new Garrett catalog has a very good article about this set up. Good reading!

I heard from them just in this past week and they have been quite impressed with their D.F.O. using only the 8x9 spoked coils.
Most of their hunting has been in more open, less-trashed sites but by month's end they should be working with a couple of new smaller coils in a ghost town or two.
Both planned their 'snowbird' time just to do this evaluation and report back on the Dual Frequency Outfit performance. From what I am hearing, BOTH frequencies are giving them results that they never had before they got into metal detecting! One of them even went so far as to claim that no other multi-frequency detector is finding anything as deep or as old as they are where they are getting to hunt exclusively and alone.
Yep, the Tesoro D.F.O. is proving to be quite the cat's meow!
If YOU haven't tried a new Dual Frequency Outfit from Tesoro, maybe now's the time?!
Steve T. reccommends the two-tone approach since his D.F.O consists of an Eldorado & Tej

Guess my DFO is Eldorado & Cortes!

the article about multi-frquenciew in the Garrett catalog. Charles Garrett gave a pretty clear asessment so that even the novice TH'er could understand what's going on.

Bandido II uMax and the LST.. The BII in one hand the LST in the other. Alternate your sweeps over each other and when the hole in the 8" LST coil lines up with the solid 7" Bandido coil the 10 khz multiplies the 17 khz as they cross and you're shooting over 170 killi-hertz's into the ground. It'll make fishng worms come to the surface.. But try to walk your patterns with your right shoulder to the north, something about the earths magnetic field seems to make the iron targets easier to avoid that way....Sure could use one more hand to carry my shovel tho........YEP,,, Tesoro's shoot great frequencies_-~=~=~=-_-_-_=~=~=~-_-_===

They won't. They don't have the technical ability to!
I offered them a MF machine five years ago, and got no response. Their loss, they coul've been #1 above minelab by now.
