Monte, which coil would be best on the 5900 and 6000 di pro sl,
the bluemax or the black one (looks like eclipse, but does not say it on coil) both are 950. and also,

which unit is better, the 5900 di pro sl (cb) or the 6000 di pro sl? i may need to sell one, but can't decide.

thanks for all your help on this forum, Monte

the XLT, Quantums, 6000 & 5900 Di Pro SL, Classic IDX and IDX Pro or the Classic III Plus or Classic III SL, regardless of color, they should work about equal.

Due to requiring (and preferring) the lighter weight of the 6000 Pro XL or XL Pro, they are my favorites, but ... if the 5900 Di Pro SL is the CB board version, I personally prefer it due to the manual GB compared with the auto tracking 6000 Di Pro SL.

Both good units, but I like prefer more manual control.

Monte, sorry to jump in here on someone else question on coils, but if you were going to Florida beach, and had to take your MXT, witch coil would you think would be best 6x10dd or 5.3 or 9.50, I wish i had a water detector, but don,t. thinks for any help. Dean

Super 12" coil or some after-market coil that was a little larger than stock simply for coverage.

Of the coils you mentioned, I guess I'd opt for the stock 950 because beach hunting is about the only time I ever use a 950 coil on any of my White's.

I have a BM 600 coil and the coil wire is way too long. IS it an easy job to cut the cable length, how do you go about doing it?

I just measured off the length from the coil to the plug of a standard coil, marked that measurement on the Blue Max 600, then had them cut it and solder the plug on at the proper length.
