Help. I have ran several searches on power balance...I had Keith S mod me a ground balance knob, I trying to get max depth out of 'Wicked Wanda" Monte ; please help any one have link to Monte power balance...thanks Jack in Arkansas aka crossotter

crossotter, you can find his discussions about power balancing on this forum if you do a search for Monte and select All Dates. I found them about two weeks ago when I was searching for discussions about ground balancing. If I remember correctly the threads will be on the second page of your search results. They were older posts from two or three years ago. Lots of good info to read. I have the links on my computer but I am on my iPod at the moment so I can't get the links till I get home later this afternoon. He talks about power balancing in a couple of the threads. Monte really knows what he is talking about.

I just had my Cibola modded by Keith as well. He did a really nice job!! Great service too!!

To Power Balance a metal detector, you should make sure the GB control controls the Disc. mode. This is true of most Tesoro's, for example, except the Lobo SuperTRAQ, Cort

Qball Great post, How does she handle(cibola) with the mod? Took mine out Yesterday to pounded civil war camp and found a lot of deep old 12ga shoot gun slhells that should have already been dug...they all could have been confederate buttons Im really pleased with Keith Southern mod. thanks for Your time jack in arkansas aka crossotter

Here is a link to Monte's power balancing. It is a great read on ground balancing in general as well. I really like the ground balance mod. Manual ground balancing isn't difficult at all. Let me know if you have any problems with the link I posted.

Anyone who has had the mod done will tell you it is like a new machine. It does make it more versatile. And you'll like the trigger switch control.
And it's a tot lot killer with the 5.75" coil.

Sven, you are absolutely right about the ground mod making the Cibola versatile. I was thinking of getting the 5.75" coil for trashy sites. Which would be better, in your opinion, the concentric 5.75" or the widescan 5.75"? Look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thanks.

I only had the 5.75 concentric and loved it. I went with Monte's suggestion of using the concentric coil over the widescan.

I think you'll have to look over on the Teknetics forum to find Monte these days...

Thanks for the reply. I'll have to give the 5.75 concentric a try. Gonna have to wait till Spring as the ground is now frozen. It's gonna be a long winter!
