Monte or Larry {IL} track inhibit?

When using xlt to search for sliver coins.Would it be better for track inhibit to be off since sliver does not corrode.I see it says in manual for gold it should be off because gold does not corrode.Would this help with sliver coins? Thanks

I hunt with track inhibit on at all times in my ground, not because of corroded coins, but because I don't want the detector trying to ground balance while pinpointing or centering over a target. "ON" is the factory default unless you are hunting in prospect mode. I don't see where turning it off would help you with the silver, if anything, it might hurt you on the very deep targets.

Thanks I was just trying to understand what the manual says.It states when you hunt for gold it should be off but didn't say anything about prospecting mode even though that what you might use.Thought it might help. Thanks

To the preset modes as they were compiled using a lot of info from lab testing, Whites dealers and experienced XLT hunters and if they carry on or a certain setting be careful before changing...Have to admit the 4 preset modes are a little wimpy on depth but can be beefed up raising ACand DC sens., VDI sens. and Preamp Gain..Remember if you raise one raise the others also and your unit must be stable so don't raise too high..All in all read each facet carefully and a lot depends on the area you hunt especially the trash content and general mineralization factors come into play so what works in Pa. might not work in TX etc. etc.
Personally change one facet and you may alter another so one must use caution but indeed if you read all the facets many there may or may not help but as an example in in trashy ground raising the recovery speed and in cleaner ground lowering it may help...Just a generalization but imagine you get the idea...
