I am curious; does the NEW coin master look anything
like the original Coin Master. Does the new one have any features
the Old Coin Master doesn't have? Does it have an all metal
mode in case one wants to do some casual relic hunting?

About the only thing they share is the name.

Just found some old pictures of Whites OLD coin master: The 5900 and the 6000.
Looks NOTHING like the New one. So with that question answered I'm still wondering
about how the two stand up next to each other in the field.

Some of the older analog box type detectors, some over 20 years old, are still very good units and once were the top of the line Katz. The new Coinmaster was designed for a beginner or as a backup unit. You really can't compare the two. Results will depend on the skill of the operator.

For the money it sounds like a real good deal.
I may just buy one. And there's always someone around here
who has never MDed before and wants to go out and give it a try.
