MONTE IS RIGHT--ABOUT HALO EFECT

now that it has not rained for some days , i went back to check the quarter i buried at 7.5" remeber at first it was barly giving a signal and -95 then after it rained it gave +83 +94 and a strong tone I>D well last night i checked it again the ground had some time to dry well by gully i noticed the signal was much weeker the block was small and the tone was faint but still gave a good high tone and vdi of +83 +94 but the sound was weeker and in the all metal pipoint mode the tone was slow not sharp kinda moaned when i got over the center now when a quarter is at 4" it really goes off full blocks sharp high tone ect ,ect so monte is right rain and setling of the ground gave the good response SO if you get permission to hunt a yard put the sprinkler on first or wait till it rains now i need to do a dry soil test whith the quarter
 
Sir..please keep us posted.it reminds me of the rods they sold for awhile..you stuck rods in ground charged them and then wet the area and it supposedly made your detector see more targets..I never tried it.
Some old field tests swore it worked though.Anyone else recall those things being field tested..It was a few years back..I may have it backwards maybe you wet ground stuck in rods and then charged it.
 
I think the charging of ground works, but how do we charge klarger areas.

Here is something else to think about, this one I know from experience is a fact. I had numerous trips with no good finds until sunset, then they popped out from deep like crazy until I went home when darkness fell. Car radio is a very good explanation that we all have experienced.

That could be electrical interference..I live close to a school.
While school is in session it's near impossible to detect my test garden..After school hours detector works fine.....I think it's interference with all of the electrical things turned on at school.
 
Well, not for me, the places I noticed this is far from daytime interference and the boost up is just around sunset.

Its something to it, believe me, but ofcourse its the explorer I noticed it with.
