Monte how are you doing?:beers:

I shipped it to my youngest son in Salt Lake City since he's the computer whiz, but even though it was marked FRAGILE and COMPUTER on the outside of a plain brown box, it received the :throw: treatment from Fed-Ex. It was returned both broken on the outside and the internals were a mess! So, as we're working out the settlement with them (they told him the check was in the mail a week ago) I have a replacement and just got back up and running yesterday.

As for me, I am up and running, but not as well as I had hoped.

I had a back injection procedure in the surgery department at the VA on January 24th and the next day I was as mobile as I was back about 5 years ago ... or more. :) Didn't need my walker or cane and bright and early the next morning I was off to hit some renovation work I saw when heading up to the hospital the morning before.

Beautiful day for detecting and I was so mobile I couldn't believe it. :) Felt like 1995 after I had back surgery and had recovered! The next day, Friday, I was still fairly mobile, but noticed that by mid-afternoon I was having a little bit of pain in both the lower back and in my left leg.

Saturday, day 3, I went fishing with my oldest son, but needed to use my cane and had to sit down more often to get the pressure off. By Sunday I was almost back to where I was when I went in for the procedure. :(

Today, I am right back to using the cane in my left hand so I can work the detector in my right. They are scheduling a different procedure and, hopefully, this will do the trick. No snow here. Supposed to be about 60

Hey Monte, I use to run the old "Shadow Talk" forum years ago and remember all your many and great post on that forum. I am glad to see you up and about and still a great asset to this hobby. These forums have sure changed over the years, and gotten a lot more fancy. Anyway I am using a White's Prism IV that I just got off this site not too long ago, so that is why I am watching the White's forum.

Anyway, thanks for all you've done and I hope things keep looking up for you.

I had a similar procedure about 7-8 years ago. It was that or a "new" operational technique they "thought" might help. I could barely walk or lay in one position for more than an hour at a time. Severe pain though out my hip, left leg, and down into my foot. After three injections into the spine it pretty much cleared up and has remained pretty much of a stranger ever since. The Doc who did the procedure said I was one of the lucky ones, most need injections three times a year (which is max) for the rest of their life. Sure hope you get fixed up.

Fabulous to have you back, Monte. Take care of that back. Broke mine in 5 places about 42 years ago but good care and doing what I was told left me just fine. Look forward to all your priceless advice.

Sorry to hear about your situation Monte. Was hoping the precedure would fix you up and we could hit some of your treasure spots. I been looking forward to get to go out with you and learn more from you in the field.

Starting to take to the M6 like a duck in the water now. The 5.3 you suggested did the trick on that school/ old dairy area. It did a fantastic job seperating those coins from all that trash. Hopefully this summer you and I can get together and do some serious hunting together. Get better and hope that new procedure does the trick.
