need some help with this question, please. The 2001 version of the Eldorado operates at 10 Khz and has a 3 3/4 turn ground balance. It was touted as a " bad ground" machine.....relic and prospecting too. The Cortes runs at the same 10 Khz frequency and also has a 3 3/4 turn ground balance. Is it basically an Eldorado plus target id meter??? Would the all metal performance of both units be the same.......and if the answer is yes....... then is the disc performance the same as well? Only diff is the meter..................anyone want to bolster my theory or fill it with holes....be my guest but convince me with facts, thanks.

Ivan,
A guy I know who still kicks butt with a full size older Bandido 2 claims that next to it , the older El Dorado that used to be his primary machine is his favorite machine of all time.
He will not buy a uMax or any other of the new " Hot series" machines and he's tried them .
My current Tesoro's of choice are a Bandido 2 uMax and a Tejon .
I recently sold a Cortes and a Golden Sabre 2 as I have changed my style of hunting .
I know this doesn't answer your question but I thought you might find it interesting .
Good question Ivan . I'm curious to see what kind of feedback you get on this also .
