Monster at the Beach

Went hunting a fresh water beach for two hours this morning. Could'nt get in the water cause the waves were crashing. So anyways the attendent at the gate told me there were three guys hunting the sand yesterday where I wanted to hunt. So I figured I would try the CTX anyways. In the 2 hours I hunted there, I found 53 targets ALL from 7 - 12 inches deep. The only old coin I found was a 1939 Wheatie which is pictured right below the silver charm.

I ran the CTX in my coin program with the 4th bin set at 1200 and was able to dig quickly with my long handled beach scoop.

So even though the sand was hunted by the other machines, the CTX picked everything else up that was deeper than their capabilities.

Nice! I can't wait to get down to the local beaches with my CTX. It's 2:30 PM and I'm still waiting for the UPS truck to show up with it. Arrrrrrrgggg.

Was nice of them guys to clear the shallow stuff out for you ;-)

Nice depth, good job,
Albert

Not to be a "wet blanket," but with the waves crashing as you mentioned and the high/low tide cycle being good right now, it's more than a little possible that the two tides + wave action can open up (or close on some days) the same area and make them completely different.

I'm not saying it's not possible that the CTX3030 picked up stuff the others didn't yesterday, but it's just as likely and maybe even more so that the tide/wave action made it a whole new area for you to hunt.

Fresh water (lake) . Not the ocean my friend.

I'm still waiting to run into one on the beach and issue a challenge. Until I can see it out hunt me on a freshwater beach I not sold. I really want to see it find more gold...just cant justify the price to find more coins. Im rooting for it cause I wanted one by the 4th of July, but still not seen any PROOF yet. Lets see some videos of actual hunts ppl.

Whoops - my mistake - that'll teach me to read posts quickly while I'm supposed to be working. Sorry bout that jablonsky

That said, I tend to agree with Diggin-it that the best comparison would be hunting side by side with someone with a different detector and checking each other's targets and keeping a log. Now THAT'S something I'd really like to see!

Grats on the clad though - 53 coins in 2 hours is a fun hunt for anyone anytime

Nice finds....your doing good

I could be gone here to.... but, im not certain you can say it was beyond their detectors capability. I noticed with all your finds you didnt find but one nickels, no gold, and 1 piece of jewelry. Were you coin hunting? I normally have a 10 percent nickel count with that many coins. Some people hunt with patterns and disc out coins and some hunt recent drops..... swinging high and covering a lot more beach.
