Monkey Grass Flower...........

Kelley (Texas)

New member
Took this picture earlier today using a Sony A200 DSLR with a Sony 75-300mm Kit Lens. The actual flowers are a tab smaller than they are in this picture, and the stems are about 24" long. Kelley (Texas) :)

Interesting looking grass Kelley. Never heard of it before. You edited the photo I assume?

We had given a neighbor lady some tomatoes and she gave us some of this Monkey Grass in return. I did not like the Monkey Grass and stuck them in a big flower pot on our patio deck. I was a little surprise when it grew some flowers on those long stems.

Yes, I did some editing in an attempt to make it look better. I waited until the lighting was what I wanted, then used a neighbors tree as a background to create the Bokeh. I used a long lens (75-300mm lens) with everything mounted to a tripod. It took eight shots before I had it like I wanted it. I was bored, caught up on doing the chores, and decided to mess around with taking a picture of these strange little flowers. It was a lot of fun. Kelley (Texas) :)

Nice, we have something similar around here, ours are weeds and we call them " Queen Annes Lace"
