My old CRT monitor is beginning to lose some color. What is your opinion? For adjusting image color in PS is a LCD monitor as good as a CRT?

Thanks,

Gary

Hi Gary - you might want to ask this question on dpreview.com (if you haven't already). They can give you a better idea.

Currently I'm still using a CRT and deliberately chose that versus an LCD as in my experience I preferred the CRT for post processing. Nowadays though most folks seem to be using LCDs and they seem to work well. However, they will say that the more expensive LCDs are better suited for image processing.

I like the fact that I can change monitor resolutions freely without worrying about the native resolution as with an LCD. Also like the colors, etc of a CRT but ymmv. One issue is that images sharpened on a CRT often appear oversharpened on an LCD so you need to keep that in mind.

Not sure this helps but try the link as I think you'll get a better answer.

Good luck!

Thanks Gord,

I am thinking about another CRT...believe it or not they are getting harder to find.
I will take a look at the site that you suggested.

Thanks again,

Gary from Texas
