First I would like to say thanks for the input on the MXT vs M6. I bought the MXT. The next decision is how to spend the $200 dollar coupon that Whites sent me as appreciation. Here is the list of coils that they gave me to choose from:

Eclipse shooter dd 4x6
5x3
dd 6x10
1400 dd 8x14
Super 12
I am looking for depth and the ability to sweep larger areas looking for relics as well as coins and jewelry. Lets hear what you veterans think. Thanks for the input.

Each one takes a special coil, A lot of things to look at. #1 What type of MD are you going to do first ? Then when you get good with your MXT go to the next type, and get that coil. ----Recon

Good target separation is very important and some coils are better then others for this. Some are made for those places where targets are far and few, so a bigger coil is important there too. It kind of a trade off depending on the area you want to detect. My wife's MXT I use too has the 4X6 for the trashy areas as it will see those good targets in with trash, but the depth is very good too. The other coil was have is the 6X10 DD which is on the detector 90% of the time as most of our area is not trash free and find this coil does excellent for us. Now if I was going to open Field where targets are far and few then I would go for a bigger coil like the Super 12.

Once you put it on and use it, you may never take it back off again!!!

If you got high minerals then the 4x6 shooter, low to moderate minerals the 5.3 . The Stock coil Up to moderate minerals is hard to beat for "average" use.
