I was able to head off to a lake today. First time I've been there this year. This particular beach has always given up something good during the season.

I got there late in the afternoon, and it was BUSY! As soon as I entered the water, I was surrounded by kids wanting to know what I was doing. They watched for a little bit, but since I was headed straight for deep water, they didn't stay long. I was working a pattern parallel to the beach. I was getting a few targets here and there. After a little over an hour, I got a soft mid-tone signal on my CZ-20. It was a solid repeatable mid-tone, and of course, I had to recover it. Didn't get it on the first scoop, but did on the second, as I could see it on the sand in the scoop. Here's what I saw:

10K, weighs about a gram (curse my kitchen scale), about a size 7 1/2. Looks like Amythesist for the main stone, not sure about the two little ones.

Here's my nut for the trip. Notice the fishing lure. I always hate to see something like that in a swimming area.

a mystic fire topaz. You can google them and compare the photos. I bought my wife a ring very much like the one you pictured, and it turned out the stones on the sides were small but real diamonds.

I'll have to do a search for the stones mentioned. This one is a light purple shade, and has a greenish tint to it as well.

And she agrees, Mystic Fire Topaz.

It's kind of funny, as she told me to go find a good ring for her last night. After I got back to my van, I sent her a text message that said, "Ask and ye shall receive".
