I went back to the park where I got the LC awhile back. I was working patterns in several different spots, looking for those deep older goodies. I wasn't until I started working the area close to the parking area that I started getting some deeper goodies. I started turning up Wheat's at 4". I have been walking over these Wheat's practically every time I've come here for two months.
Closer to the sidewalk, I got yet another signal that indicated High Coin at 5". I was hoping for something good. I cut a plug, and scanned all the loose dirt. Nothing. Scanned the hole, target's still there. Scanned with my Vibraprobe, and I got a hit at about 5 o'clock in the hole. I popped out a small divot of dirt, and saw a silver edge flip up. I noticed two things right off the bat. #1) The edge was practically smooth, so it's been circulated awhile. #2) It was thin, but bigger than a dime. A split second later, I had picked it up, and caught a glimpse of an eagle on the back. I knew I had a silver quarter, my fifth for this year. Then, as I flipped the coin over in my hand, I realized this wasn't a Washington! Here's what I saw:

SWEET! I haven't found a Barber quarter in almost two years. I ended up getting six Wheat's, a '35, '42 (maybe), '46, '50D, '56D, and '57D.
Note: the picture(s) might not show up due to bandwidth limitations. If the picture(s) are not there, check back at a later time.
