Monday goodies...

Finally! I'm back on Monday's off for awhile. I headed out to a couple lakes, hoping to find some goodies. I didn't find much, except some nice deep holes! SOMEONE around here, and I don't know who, obviously has the biggest darn scoop ever made, and probably doesn't know how to pinpoint targets in the water. Whoever you are, come talk to me, and I'll teach you how.

I did manage to find one piece, and I mean "piece" of jewelry, a broken 925 toe ring. I know it's silver, as the piece I got was marked, luckily.

The second beach I went to, I haven't been to in two years. This is a SMALL beach. I didn't find much, except a few coins. I decided to pull my CZ-5 out and do a quickie search of the grassy area leading up to the shoreline. I was hoping for some Wheat's, or maybe a silver dime. All the county parks here were built in the 40's, and one of them has produced BIG TIME on the land. I'm hoping for a repeat somewhere. I wasn't disappointed, as I managed to recover four Wheat's in about 45 minutes. They're dated '51, '51D, '52, and '56. Not to old, but right in the time frame I'm looking for. Also, this particular beach isn't as trashy as my "Wheatfield" was, so, hopefully, I'll be able to hit it good with my 10.5" coil.

I was using my CZ-20 in the water, then switched to my CZ-5 for the land hunt, mainly because I wasn't sure how trashy the grass was, and wanted to the the 8" coil, whereas my 20 is hard-wired with a 10.5" coil. Of course, I found out that the grassy areas there isn't that trashy, and I should be able to use the 10.5" on my CZ-5, or use my CZ-20, and really reach down there and get those deep old coins.
