Monday goodies...

My boss called Monday morning, and told me to take the day off. YeeHaa! Off I went to a few lakes.

I started at a lake I haven't been to since Memorial Day. This time, the water was much warmer. I started as I usually do, walked out into the water from the stairs leading down, and headed out as far as I could before I started floating. I turned right, and started working a pattern to the corner buoy. The water was semi-clear, as I could see my coil and the bottom in 5' of water. I saw a small, rectangular object, of a mottled greenish color. I scooped it up, and realized I had a $5 bill! Cool! Gas money!

I was pulling a few coins here and there, but not much. Shortly after I got the $5, about 50 folks showed up and started churning the water up, so I couldn't see the bottom. So much for eyeball finds. Talking to one of the other folks there, I realized the beach had already been worked by a couple folks. Doesn't surprise me, as I think someone camps here all summer and hits this, and other beaches, on a regular basis. However, they didn't get everything, as I got this out about as far as I can get:

It's not gold, but I'll take it!

Later that afternoon, I went to the beach that gave me 3 out of 4 gold rings last weekend. I didn't find any gold there, but I did find a few more coins, and this silver ring:

I also found something I've never found before. Take a gander at this:

And here's the back:

I'm not sure if it's real or not. There's no badge number. However, it's got some heft to it, and a lot of detail to be some cheapie thing to give out. I'm going to take it to the Sheriff's department and find out. If it's real, they can have it.

Note: the picture(s) might not show up due to bandwidth limitations. If the picture(s) are not there, check back at a later time.

Very nice and interesting.

It is interesting that it does not have a badge number. I will be watching the post to see the results of your visit.

And already returned to the Sheriff's Department.

LOL. When I read that it was real I got the picture of you wearing it while detecting and telling all the other people detecting they had to leave cause it was crime scene.

I got detecting on my mind way too much. :nerd:
