Everywhere I dig I find highly conductive (read upper right, between screwcaps and quarters)randomly shaped pieces of what I guess is lead, aluminum, solder, who knows? Not everyone uses a cutting torch out in their yard, or sits around casting bullets and spillin junk all over. What is ya'lls take on these things? Is it from people burning garbage in the yard.A local tradition down here..I know everyone else digs these clumps too.....cs <IMG SRC="/forums/images/csflag.gif" BORDER=0 ALT="::">

Probably molten pieces of cans thrown in the trash fires...

I find the molten metal chunks the most problem. They can be ever so tiny yet still give a good signal.I think they're a problem with all detectors. I plan to overlay plastic sheet so maybe I can mark where they land on the screen and differenciate between good and bad.
