Mojave Question

Does it have a pinpoint switch or ? Thinking you may use the Tesoro wiggle so to speak to pinpoint a target?

I was about to ask the same question, looks to me as motion only yet the the GB is tied in with discrimination mode.

Im not too famlier with Tesoro, maybe others will know.

Tesoros with concentric coils pinpoint dead center of the coil anyway. Just "X" your target and you'll be on center. It's when you use a large DD coil that you may be a bit off, but they're still close enough to locate the target by X-ing. Pinpoint switches are nice though, 'cause the all-metal gives additional target info on size and depth. Like Compadre and Silver models, Mojave doesn't have one.

Doesnt look like it nor does it have an all metal mode...the disc just appears to dial down into the iron range...like a compadre.

Tesoros responses are so fast pinpointing is a snap- I do it with the coil in motion without "x"ing the target.

I do too, depending on how tired I am... Sometimes, at the end of a long day...I just stare at the ground in a daze.

Thanks for the replies. I kind of figured it did not have a all metal pinpoint. Probably not a big issue as most Tesoro's pinpoint really well by just narrowing your sweep over the target anyway.

Exactly! I've switched over to Minelab for the last 3 years using DD coils and now I prefer the DD coils for my type of hunting. With that said tho......man do I miss the fast, easy, and accurate PPing of the concentric. Target is always right in the center of the donut hole on the 8" coil on my old GSII. Unfortunately I no longer use the GSII but with just a little more effort the DD more than makes up for a little extra time....for my style of hunting.

I just ordered one, and cannot wait to try it out! It is nice having a pinpoint button, but as others have said, we all know how well Xing a target with a Tesoro works, so the button really isn't necessary. I find that with the powerful pinpointers we have today that can actually be cranked up to detect down to a few inches, pinpointers on the machines themselves are less useful. I have been at this hobby since 1968 and have used the top machines from virtually every single company, but arthritis in my hands dictates I use light machines, or my day will be too short! I never feel outgunned with the little Tesoros, even though I have used so many much higher priced machines over my 49 year career!

X'ing the target takes to long for me, too impatient, too many targets out there that are begging to be dug.
A couple of side to side swipes, ( the minus method), with my eyes watching the coil listening for the beeps and I got it dead on.
Eye, ear, coil coordination I call it.
I am so clumsy I once tripped over a chalk line running from first to second base but this I got down good.
