Mojave Pro, with meter.

Old California

New member
Not ID meter by any means but an intensity meter, mounted the meter this evening.

There have been times i needed an intensity meter on a few VLF, they actually can determine depth on coin size targets showing strength of the signal. I ran my Baron Pro Hunter module with LED lights showing the strenght of the signal, and my old BBS Sovereign with an intensity meter and of course my old vintage detectors.

Since the Mojave is a keeper, might as well add an old feature older detectors of yesterday came as a standard equipment. Actually, Looks kind of cool.

Going to add a meter kill switch, this deactivates or springs the meter back to life to check out on the weak signals.

Something different, going to take her out again this weekend :)

Wow now that is a nice looking detector I would love to be able to do that . I thought about getting the Mohave but seems to be just a supped up Silver µ max and I already have Shadow x2 with the super 7 coil which is killer but I sure like that meter install Thanks for sharing " Why did Tesoro not do this ?"

Paul,
You are truly gifted at doing mods.Wish I had that
knowledge.Your Mojave looks better than the
factory model.Great job my friend and will await
to see your next work of ART...

Paul-----You my friend are an artist!---Do I ever wish I had your skills.------GREAT JOB!------------Del

Looks to be a meter fro a Toltec, is it acturate.

Wow Paul that looks great. You get the prize for the first modded Mojave:clapping:

Is the meter for just signal strength or does it also display conductivity.....like the earlier Toltec model?

Thanks for sharing.

Neil

Beautiful! I wonder why we have never seen a meter a la the sovereign available for Tesoro's. Your mods are an inspiration, great job!

Your my favorite " Do Dad" guy! Nice

There's a Toltec out there that just got a " Lobotomy" !:clapping:

Barryl,

I think Tesoro will do this in the future, not necessary an analog meter but maybe LED. Hardly takes up any room using LED.

Thanks again,
Paul

Thank you Jimmy ,

You're on your way to creating masterpieces as well, keep up the studying and tinkering looking forward to viewing your creations.

If you ever want to sell your periscope probe, i will be interested i can always need a backup incase my periscope ever broke.

Thanks again old friend,
Paul

Thanks John,

This is only the beginning, have other mods for the Mojave.

Thanks again okd friend,
Paul

Yes, the meter portion is off aToltec, but it's for intensity not ID. Gives me the strenght of the target., with it helps me determine depth on coin size objects.

Take care,
Paul

Thanks Del,

Luckly, had minor issues but all worked out. I may need to add a resistor to the analog meter reduce the meter sensitivity.

Thanks again,
Paul

Thanks Neil,

Only gives signal strength, but thats what i need to help me determine depth on coin size objects. If it was for conductivity, that would rob depth from the Mojave.

Thanks again,
Paul

Thank you,

Yes indeed some vlf will benefit from a meter contraption like this, even BBS sovereign whrn1i had one mounted to my old original Sovereign. Depth actuary was great.

Thanks again,
Paul

Not quite finished with the Mojave yet :)

Have couple of other mods to add, and may have to go with a smaller meter to add the other mods.

Thanks my friend,
Paul

Nicely done mod Paul,

Functional and had a great look to it as well.

After an initial hickup in ordering, My mojave arrived last Tuesday afternoon. We've had winter storms for the last week or 10 days, so I had to drive out to an old ghost town in the west desert for first time out. Twenty Nine degrees, lightly snowing, 15 mph wind. Rather chilling. But the ground wasn't frozen yet. No great finds, but the audio / coil combination seem to be really good for distinguishing targets. Found a lot of the normal ghost town garbage; 22 casings, lead bullets. bits of brass, tin. Looking forward to my next outing with it.

And I'm Interested to see what you come up with to 'finish' your project.
