looking forward to giving one a try for the price of $215.00 used less than a month better jump at it I said to myself . If it can run with the big dog X2 I have I might have a winner what ya think?
The Troy Custom Shadow X2 is nothing more that a tinkered with Silver Sabre microMAX. I owned them since they were introduced
(both the Silver Sabre µMAX as well as the first Shadow X2), and I like them both, definitely prefer my Silver Sabre µMAX, but know very well they are not what I would consider to be a "
big dog" metal detector.
There is no such thing as a 'perfect' metal detector, and with my Vaquero providing the pushbutton pinpoint feature like the Silver Sabre µMAX, I surrendered it to Oregon Gregg since I bought a new Mojave from 'Rusty' Henry figuring the Vaquero / Mojave would make a good team. Well,
they do, and my high-tone modified Vaquero is more of a
'Big Dawg' compared with all my other Tesoro's for depth potential and is well complemented by the Mojave. ..... Later, I also came to my senses and rescued my Silver Sabre microMAX from being a mantel piece over at Gregg's to be back with my Regular-Use Detector Team to be put to work, like all good Tesoro's should be.
It didn't replace anything, it just complemented my Tesoro model line-up for different needs and wants. The Mojave is a very reliable model and I tried the Precision 7" on other models, and other coils on the Mojave, and concluded that I really like the Mojave w/Precision 7 inch Concentric coil mounted full-time. I am sure you will find the Mojave to make a great complement to your Shadow X2.
