Mods to an old excal... coil suggestions?

I just picked up an older excal with the intention of adding a new Coil. My original thought is to add a WOT coil. The loop thats on it has worn and I will want Minelab to replace it. Ideally I would love to be able to swap out coils.

Can I put a Sunray coil and a wot coil on the same cable? Has anyone had any experience with the Excelerator Coils? Can they also be fitted to a Excal. I am just looking for some ideas from anyone why has experimented with this.
