Sven

Well-known member
For those interested in building your own headsets and looking for 300 ohm speakers, google All Electronics.
Haven't tried them yet, they are cheap and might just sound good.

Wish they were waterproof, been working on a setup for the xcalibur but I just can't get a good combination of audio. I have a excellent setup for PP hunting but the discrimation audio really gets killed....

First is the stock yellows, which I'm trying to copy....I running 4 different piezo's ..50mm 41mm 27mm 20mm, been using everything from teak wood, plastic, differ thickness, brass, with no luck...just a few...audio................

Thanks You Sevn, some good reading......

Sven,

I haven't tried the speakers from your source but I have used some I purchased at Goldmine-elec. Here is a link to those speakers.

These work very well and can be a direct replacement for the ones presently mounted in some of the cheaper models of headphones. I made this change and also added a limiting circuit for hearing protection.

Thanks Reg,
Had a link to some 300ohm as well, just can't find it, book, marked yours.

Got them Sven, thank you, also have a few others coming for testing, Kobitones....25CE500RO, 254DR150RO, Should have some video of the compare on different targets in a week using a Minelab Excalibur......thank you

Don't give up on the testing OBN - whatever you come up with, I would love to check out the final product! That's a wide variety of tones too.

Hey ''OldBeechnut'' I have a set of killer bee stingers they have so much'' treble'' and no ''base '' sound I cant use them. if you get the 300 OHM speakers to work can you tell me if they have any base sound. Because if they do I am going to get one for my stingers .and try it.
