modified arm rest

Started to work on the Cibola. Mechanical work first.

My elbow gets sore and I have noticed it is not as bad if the arm rest is as near to right behind my elbow as I can get it. I have one detector that I can adjust it that far up; my CZ20. So I am going to start modifying the others.

With it mounted high behind the elbow it makes me swing more from the shoulder and not twist the elbow and over reach as much. Also changes the torque moment arm with respect to the elbow.

I got some aluminum tubing, 3/4 and 7/8. The 7/8 matches the Tesoro shaft tubing size and the 3/4 slides inside the 7/8. Add a couple of 8-32 x 1 inch long screws with cap nuts and bolt it together.

Made extensions in the kitchen, drilling by hand since it was pretty cold in the garage today. One hole slightly off center (can notice in the picture of parts before assembly) but it all bolts up straight. The arm rest used to bolt up where the two bolts to the left are through the original part of the Cibola shaft.

Before you ask if I mounted it upside down ... I flipped the whole detector assembly over before I took the second picture; it really is right side up.
