Managed to get out today at the beach, needless to say here in the North East it was freezing. I did manage a buffalo nickel, sterling earring,a 2 cent piece that I mistook for a quarter it was so cold out. I didn't realize it was a 2 cente piece till I got home and warmed up. Also got another junk ring. Enjoy the video. Happy Hunting.

Nice finds!! I wish I lived close to a beach as it looks like a lot of fun (easy digging ) On top of it you find some nice old coins and jewelry. Great vid and thanks for sharing. - Jim

These are all good questions & I welcome them . Hopefully I can clear them up. The 2 cent piece is missing from the video for some reason it was so cold out that I thought I turned the camera on but I guess I didn't. Fingers were numb at that point. One glove on the right hand so it won't get to cold swinging and the other makes it easier to pick the coins from the sand. A lot of reading and searching old books along with the internet help me find some of the better spots ... I am attaching pictures of the other items from that same beach that were not caught on video. By the way I am using a GoPro camera with a head strap works perfect but you can not zoom. Enjoy the pictures.

Nice find! I have yet to find a 2 cent piece. To get that crust off of it try heating it up in a flame and then throwing it in cold water. That should shock the crap off it. After you do that rub some olive oil on it to bring out the details and also to protect it. Olive oil is a great way to protect copper or bronze coins from further degrading. When you dig up a copper or bronze coin or button some times the air right away starts to damage it. For that reason some people carry a small container full of soapy water to throw it in.

That makes two of us critterhunter. I am still waiting to find my first 2 center. Nice find on the coin! I kind of wondered where the 2 cent piece was in your video.... Not a problem as I have had those numbing hand days myself. I give you a lot of credit for being out in the cold Cape Cod wind hunting for treasure. Keep up the nice vids I enjoy watching you detecting in the warmth of my home. :) Although, if I lived near the ocean, I would put on my thermals and brave the cold to find treasure myself.
