Missouri RelicsThis Week

Hi, All:

Getting my feet wet relic hunting with my Nox 600. Hunting a Civil War era Missouri ghost town and camp area. Spent about seven hours on the town's edge where I think camp activity was occupied. The area has been hunted by others, but I was able to save some lead (and an 1946 Wheatie). A few drops and some shot bullets. A dropped .54 cal Minie and a .69 cal. musket ball were the best finds. A couple of shot .54 minies and a shot .44 cal Colt revolver, as well as other small round balls were recovered. No period brass was found, so I'm thinking this was a short term camp. Was fun being able to recover what I was able to recover.

Used Field 2, 1 recovery speed, 1 iron bias, 21 sens. for my settings. All the lead came in between 10 and 17 on the numbers.

Thanks for looking,

I was looking at your settings and the recovery speed of 1 would be a tough hunt in thick iron. JMO Good luck tomorrow, go to townLOL
Jeff

Good point. Increasing speed of recovery to "3". Remember a "3" on the 600 is the same as a "6" in the 800, if I read the manual correctly.

Thanks for the heads up,

jimmyk

Thanks for the reminder :) Yes 3 is as fast as it gets on the 600. Had enough rain yet LOL

Building a boat big enough for two of every brand of detector. Hopefully the rain is done for a few days.

That's funny Noah's detecting Arc Just call me before you slam the door shut, I can cook, row, charge your detectors...……….. LOL. We got 4 inches in one shot on Saturday, went hunting Sunday any way, very sloppy.
