Missouri Mules

Heres a couple Missouri Mules That was next to a detecting contest I attended today made good subjects for photo's .

No I didn't even ry Kelly was there for the detecting hunt so didn/t mess with them . I use to have two smaller Jumping mules when I was younger and did a lot of coon hunting off them . They were trained to jump over the fences but mine were way smaller than these work type mules we saw today . I will post pictures of mine if I can find the pictures its been twenty years since I got rid of mine .

Hi Kelly .Here is the only pictures of my mules I use to ride and coon hunt off of . The palomino was Kate she was 8 years old and the brown one was George he was really old ..I am the guy in the Blue Jacket remember that was over 20 years ago I'm 65 now and the other gentleman was my hunting buddy he's in his 70's now . We were playing with the wig's his wife had a beauty shop and she was taking the pictures . Theses mules were trained to jump over fences we just laid a rug over the wire and used a tie down strap on the wire so they didn't scratch themselves . Sorry I don't have any pictures of them actually jumping over a fence .
These were taken with a low quality camera that we packed in our pocket at the time. Enjoy

Having the opportunity of riding a few mules over the years, in some instances, a mule is superior to a horse. I always enjoyed the few times that I rode a mule, but they can be hard headed and have a will of their own. Your pictures bring back some great memories, thanks for posting them. Kelley (Texas) :)

I enjoy looking at that type of subject matter........every day life things....very nice

Where you and your buddy are, looks like a nice place to detect. Thought about getting a mule. Heard they are good for protecting against prey animals. Just heard that recently from a local. Also, heard that donkeys were good for the same reason. Have neither.

Have 3 disabled horses, that were given to me, now that I have moved back to the country. Forgot that when i was growing up in southern Missouri back in the early '60's, that our three horses had 400 acres to roam. Plenty of pasture. Now, I have only 18 acres, and three horses. They sure put pressure on the pasture which is about 12 acres. Also, forgot that EAT LIKE A HORSE and HAY BURNER, are not just flip expressions, they are a fact.

Nice photos, Bear. Nice looking mules. Look more "horsey" than "mulie". Maybe it is just the wigs, but they sure do look nice.
